GREEK CULTURE FOUNDATION (GCF)
A Non-Profit Organization

ABOUT THE GREEK CULTURE FOUNDATION

The Greek Culture Foundation is administered under the auspices of the Fresno Free College Foundation (FFCF), a non-profit corporation registered in the State of California. The Foundation was formed in 1968 and in its Articles of Incorporation it commits itself to the “enhancement of the artistic and intellectual life of the community”; it also supports a free and open society and free inquiry within a democratic framework.

The GCF embraces these principles. Its goals and purposes are outlined in other places on this web site. It is a creation of Nick Fournarakis who emigrated from Athens, Greece and now lives in the USA. His associates in this endeavor is Dr. Alexander Vavoulis, Takis Siabanis of Greece and Dr. Dimitri Koutsoumanis of France.

Legally, the GCF is administered by a democratically elected Board of Directors. The minutes of the Board meetings of the FFCF and KFCF (a radio station owned and operated by the Foundation) can be found at www.kfcf.org.

The Greek Culture Foundation derives its inspiration from paideia, a symbolic name. Paideia is a symbolic name because it cannot be contained by a simple definition. It encompasses the ideals of Greek Culture and incorporates all the modern expressions such as civilization, culture, tradition, literature and education.
